{"id":220,"date":"2025-05-07T14:47:03","date_gmt":"2025-05-07T14:47:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/youraquasculpt.com\/blog\/?p=220"},"modified":"2025-05-07T14:47:03","modified_gmt":"2025-05-07T14:47:03","slug":"this-common-food-destroys-your-gut-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/youraquasculpt.com\/blog\/this-common-food-destroys-your-gut-health\/","title":{"rendered":"This Common Food Destroys Your Gut Health"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If you\u2019ve been reading my emails for a while, you know that I\u2019m a big advocate for gut health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s a good reason for that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A healthy gut is essential for so many things, including a strong immune system and getting a good night\u2019s sleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why I want to tell you about an alarming new study that every health-conscious person should see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Researchers have recently discovered that one common food could seriously harm your gut and even put you at greater risk for disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"612\" height=\"379\" src=\"https:\/\/youraquasculpt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-39.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-221\" srcset=\"https:\/\/youraquasculpt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-39.png 612w, https:\/\/youraquasculpt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-39-300x186.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But don\u2019t worry, I\u2019m going to explain everything you need to know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This food has been on my &#8220;never-put-in-your-mouth&#8221; list for years, and I have some important reasons why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It destroys your gut bacteria, spikes blood sugar, and contributes to weight gain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s worse is that it can even have toxic effects on your nervous system, leading to depression, anxiety, and possibly even Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m talking about artificial sweeteners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Artificial sweeteners are widely known to cause a variety of health issues, including migraines, vision changes, nausea, insomnia, joint pain, heart palpitations, depression, memory loss, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And now, there\u2019s even more bad news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new study published in the <em>International Journal of Molecular Sciences<\/em> found that artificial sweeteners could have a dangerous impact on your gut health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research shows that these sweeteners can cause healthy gut bacteria to become diseased, and these bacteria can then invade your gut wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The researchers were shocked to observe that normal, healthy bacteria began transforming into harmful bacteria when exposed to artificial sweeteners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new strain of bacteria then proceeded to kill intestinal cells, known as Caco-2 cells, which are critical for proper digestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Certain harmful gut bacteria are also capable of crossing the intestinal wall and entering the bloodstream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once in the bloodstream, these bacteria can travel to vital organs such as the liver, spleen, and lymph nodes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In these organs, they can cause infections and, in extreme cases, lead to septicemia, which is a life-threatening form of blood poisoning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But here\u2019s the worst part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The researchers found that it only took the equivalent of two cans of diet soda to cause the gut bacteria to become more aggressive and begin attacking the intestinal cells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given all the stress our bodies are under in today\u2019s world, why would we intentionally add to that burden, especially when it harms our gut health?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I want to remind you that artificial sweeteners are hidden in many products, so it\u2019s important to read labels carefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Look out for ingredients like saccharin, sucralose, and aspartame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if you enjoy sweetening your coffee or tea, consider switching to natural, calorie-free sweeteners like monk fruit or stevia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking care of your gut is an essential part of protecting your overall health, so it\u2019s worth making the switch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more on the risks of artificial sweeteners and their effect on gut health, check out this article from<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medscape.com\/viewarticle\/sugar-substitutes-originally-meant-reduce-health-risk-may-2024a1000ekg\">Medscape<\/a> and another from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/nutrition\/artificial-sweeteners-and-gut-bacteria\">Healthline<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you\u2019ve been reading my emails for a while, you know that I\u2019m a big advocate for gut health.
